Sarasota Amateur Radio Association
General Meeting Minutes
July 15, 2003
President Eddie Martin, KI4ZJ, called
the meeting to order at 8:04 PM
Twelve members and one visitor, Bill
Bruno, KG4QOT was in attendance. Bill was acknowledged and welcomed.
Vivia Martin, KB4KEK read the minutes
of the last meeting. Don Vande Polder, N3VP made a motion that was seconded by Fritz,
N4DPF.
Vivia Martin, KB4KEK, Treasurer
stated that the bank account had balanced, with reports and details to be given at the
Board Meeting. Anyone interested could stay for that.
Vivia Martin gave a quick report on
Field Day. We choose to have cold cuts instead of grilled food and that went well. It was
another fun Field Day and more participated than originally expected.
Stacey Scott provided a fried chicken
dinner and desert for the gang. We all looked forward to dinner all afternoon.
The five-minute Current Interests
covered from ghosts in Danny Zirpoli, N4CPPs shack here in Sarasota to Hans Napfel,
WB2ZZB witnessing satellite dishes pointed straight instead of upward in Alaska.
Vivia Martin, KB4KEK, gave the
Journal Report on Helen Coultier Schmock.
Don Vande Polder, N3VP on Echo Link,
presented the monthly program. He explained
from downloading the free software to setting up Alarms
that notify you when a special person to you has logged on to Block, which
will block the less desirables on your list. Handouts were given so we all could see the
actual computer screen. Very nicely done.
Program Chairperson, Hans Napfel,
WB2ZZB, gave us the programs coming up. They are:
August Bill Anderson, WB4TJH, discussing 60 Meters
September Hans Napfel, WB2ZZB sharing his trip to Alaska
October Herman Birkner, W2FRH discussing Electronic Circuits
Danny Zirpoli, N4ZZP made a motion
that was seconded by Bob Peterson, AF4ZW to adjourn.
President Eddie Martin, KI4ZJ,
adjourned meeting at 9:25 pm.
Respectfully Submitted, Vivia Martin, KB4KEK, Treasurer
for
Elmer Dickson,KE4EYN, Secretary
