Sarasota Amateur RADIO ASSOCIATION

 Minutes of the March 18. 2003 Meeting

President Eddie Martin called us to order at 8:00 p.m. and invited everyone present to introduce themselves by first name and amateur call sign. Twelve signed in and towhee people were present.

Minutes were read by the secretary and approved.

 The Vice President had no report regarding the hamfest.

Treasurer Vivia Martin indicated that a financial report would be made at the Executive Committee later this night.

Donald Fritinger reported to the Nominating Committee as follows:

Vice President • Don Vande Polder

Secretary - Elmer Dickson

Treasurer - Vivia Martin

 

Executive Committee: Don Fritinger, Charles Michael, Hans Nepfel and Danny Zirpoli. Joe

Rubin and Ed Neely had asked to he removed from consideration.

Nominations from the floor were solicited. None being made. A unanimous vote was cast for the slate. Officers took their positions this night.

Field Day was discussed. The dates will he Saturday and Sunday, June 2i and 22. Vivia Martin will contact the Wilkinson School. Resources for the event were discussed. St should begin at about 2 p.m. on Saturday.

No journal report was made, as Bill Schlapfcr was in the hospital. Several Persons offered brief comments for the recent radio feature.

Larry Mings presented ; program about his radio experiences flying in the military, from Iceland to Japan, with several VVWII artifacts to share. Larry has been a radio operator for 62 years and a Ham for 58 of those years. Hans Napfel helped with the slide presentation.

We adjourned to refreshments at 9:25 p.m.
