Sarasota
Amateur Radio Association
General
Meeting
February
17, 2004
Regular Meeting convened at 8:00pm.
The February meeting got under way with President E. Martin
asking for (and receiving) intros from all in attendance, along with amateur
related activities of interest. With this smoothly accomplished, Interim Vice
President, Charles Michael related that he had nothing to add. With Secretary
Elmer Dickson currently out of town (out of country), the minutes from the
board and regular meetings of January 20, 2004 were not available – had somehow
gotten lost or misplaced, therefore not read. Motion: Fritz, 2nd
somebody to accept anyway. Ms Vivia related that our treasury is in good shape
and currently on a budget for the year. Ms Vivia went on that a Memorial
Service for recently departed (Silent Key) Life Member Ken Segal, W4LMT, was
for the upcoming Saturday (February 21, 2004) at 2:00pm and named the location.
At this point we broke for refreshments and on returning
went into a round table on members’ interest – Amateur related (or nearly so)
which strayed almost immediately into computer talk which nearly put Ms Vivia
and myself to sleep. I couldn’t get comfortable tho – HiHi. Bill Schlaptfer,
WA2HEA, brought a QSL card collection to show. Hans, WB2ZZB, conducted
show-and-tell (he knows of what he speaks) of the latest antenna analyzer from
M.F.J. and fielded questions pertaining to its’ capabilities. An interesting
piece of electronics.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:25pm. Motion, Interim V.P.
Charles Michael, 2nd President Eddie Martin.
Submitted for your approval by Interim “Minutes Taker”,
Fritz
