S.A.R.A. General Meeting

Minutes

9.16.2003

 

Eddie Martin, KI4ZJ called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm.

 

 

Attendance:           6 Members

                     0 Visitor

                     6 Officers, Board Members      

 

There was a round-table introduction, and President Eddie Martin welcomed all.

 

Vivia Martin, Treasurer, sitting in for Elmer Dickson, Secretary, read the Minutes of the last meeting. Don Vande Polder made a motion that was seconded by Fritz to accept the minutes as read with two corrections made.

 

Hans Napfel and Don Vande Polder reminded us of the upcoming programs:

          Oct  -  Herman Birkner, W2FHR – Electronic Circuits

          Nov - General discussion concerning Broadband over Power Lines

          Dec - Holiday Dinner, no meeting

 

 

Vivia Martin lead a discussion concerning the Holiday Dinner. Don Vande Polder and Dan Zirpolli agreed to work together to find an acceptable restaurant. Eddie Martin gave authorization to reserve the restaurant if they found one reasonably priced and meeting our criteria. The dinner will be on or about December 16, 2003, our regular meeting night.

 

Last month’s   “Ham Happenings”:

-        A Shack got cleaned out

-        Hello World by Gregory and Share was brought in for everyone to glance through

-        QRP was played

-        Reflections II by Maxwell was brought in

-        Someone discovered the miracle of a new battery for a handheld

-        An expected QSL card from the group Nude Awareness has not been received

 

Bill Anderson gave the Journal Report on Mobile antennas, and it was generally agreed that the MFJ was the best for the money

 

Hans Nepfel shared his recent trip to Alaska with us via  slide show. That held everyone’s interest and raised a few communication questions.

 

Fritz made a motion that was seconded by Bill Anderson that we adjourn the meeting.

 

Meeting adjourned by Eddie Martin at 9:35 pm
