Charles Michael moved that the minutes from the October General Meeting be accepted with the correction that one must identify them selves when closing an auto-patch. Fritz seconded the motion.

Don Vande Polder reminded us of the upcoming programs:

Dec – No meeting, Holiday Dinner

Jan – Steve Padar will discuss Weather and Computers

NOMINATING COMMITTEE:

          Fritz

          Bill Anderson

          Bob Davisson

HAM Happenings:

A rig was purchased without testing, and is doubtful that it can ever be used

A member had a dream about an antenna marching by his bedroom window, after telling his wife of the dream she said he could pick up a book and read until he fell asleep, or he could try to go back to sleep quickly and finish his dream.

A show-off to a friend ended up a disaster when there was no audible reception, and the Ham found himself without his antenna (a mag-mount had blown off his car)

A lost one got directions and on the right track

The wait from a member was ended when he received his special QSL card from NUD5E

One of us purchased a used computer from a “friend” and 2 days later saw the same one less expensive at a local retailer

The Basic Rules of Ham Radio Review:

The rules were Field Day rules, and too long and complicated to post. I do not take shorthand. But - - they were controversial.

We had an open forum on Broadband over power lines. The general thought was the noise on our bands would be too great most of the time to enjoy the hobby. It also was pointed out that the FCC is promoting this, and they are NOT promoters, but regulators, and there is a big difference.

We al were encouraged to go to “fcc.gov/cgb/ed/fs/” to voice our opinions and remind them of their responsibility of regulator, not promoter. When logging on, you must identify yourself by name, address and zip code, or it will be trashed, and your effort in vain.

A motion was made by Don Vande Polder and seconded by Danny Zirpoli to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 9:24PM by Eddie Martin.

Respectfully Submitted,

Vivia Martin, KB4KEK, Treas. for Elmer Dickson, KE4NYN, Sec.
