SARA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING January 21,2002
Vice President Charles Michael distributed an agenda. President Eddie Martin called the meeting to order at 9:45 p.m.
Treasurer, Vivia Martin reported that $664.32 was returned from the Hamfest postal account. It was agreed by all to deposit these funds in the SARA account, as there was no Hamfest this year and the postal account was dropped until further need. The Association has a bank balance of $2,140.80.
The newly appointed secretary, Elmer Dickson, was charged with keeping minutes of the executive committee, the monthly meetings of the Association and the printing of an up to date roster for distribution at the February meeting.
Hans Knepful reported that he would speak about his recent trip to the Antarctic at the February 18. Meeting. On March 18th. Larry Minks will talk about his experiences as an Air force radio operator. The VP was encouraged to consider developing a program about digital photography.
Donald Fritinger is to chair a nominating committee, with names due at the Executive Committee in February and an election on March 18th. The new officers will take charge that night in March.
Don Vande Polder suggested that we feature a brief journal report at each meeting. He will coordinate finding people to make the 5 minute reports. Don also suggested asking at each meeting if anyone had a recent QSO of special interest that they would briefly share with the group.
It was moved and approved that the President and VP be given authority to obtain a January 2004 date at Robert’s for our next Hamfest. This will be presented to our February meeting for approval.
We voted to make Kenneth Siegel (W4LM2) a life member. The meeting adjourned at about 10:30 p.m.
